Animation Lab: The Muay Thai Cyborg

Animation Lab: The Muay Thai Cyborg

We’re back again with another experimental project in Igloo House. In this arena, “The Muay Thai Cyborg”, a South East Asian warrior characters from our original content is selected for R&D. We combined Muay Thai Martial Arts with Sci-Fi elements using Real Time Technology of Unreal Engine ✨

“The first time I saw this project’s artwork & design including the animation, I was inspired to put all my effort to make this project the best possible,” P’Tong, CG Supervisor in charge of Assets and Unreal Engine, said about the fun and challenges when the team has received the brief about the style of work. They want the result to be a combination of Realistic and Stylized. “We have chosen to run it on the Unreal Engine system which renders fast and we can see the real time overview during rendering. This gives the team more time to focus on creative work.”

Our Animation Director, Chalermphol, told us the story behind the scenes and the origin of this project. “The animators on the team need to understand about timing and how to synchronize with the camera. They also have to understand about body mechanic, which should neither be too cartoonish nor too realistic in order to obtain this style of work.” “I want it to be a continuation of what we’ve done before. Therefore, we combined Muay Thai and Sci-Fi together to make it fun, exciting, modern, but still retains the charm and magic of Thainess. We develop an animation style that improve our heritage in a creative way, make it more contemporary and maintain the identity of Igloo House.”
